About Me
"Range."

Welcome to Ali Burch’s acting website. Here are some things to know about her. Ali is a world-class crier, therefore adept in dramatic work; but she’s been getting to do more funny and weird work the last few years and it's been great to give the tear ducts a rest.
With a career almost exclusively in heightened/classical language and new works, Ali has been described as a very weird human who makes unexpected but grounded choices—or so say the casting directors to whom she is forever thankful and who have helped shape her career thus far.
She humbly requests to be in a romantic relationship with Nicole Kidman in her next project and/or be killed off, as she is currently the antithesis of Sean Bean. She lives…every time. #NoSpoilers.
Some TV/film credits include Weapons, Tyler Perry's Straw, Chicago PD, Hot Date, An Acceptable Loss, Inside the Woods, Emilia, and more.
As a theatre actor working regionally, she has had the immense pleasure of working at the Goodman Theatre five times, Actors Theatre of Louisville four times, Windy City three times, First Folio twice, and a slew of other wonderful places.

"It is the most wonderful feeling in the world when a project you were a small cog in makes such a massive impact culturally and artistically. I love this movie. And as the second most evil redhead of the film, I'm pleased as punch to be very small part of it." -Ali Burch

Thrilled is an understatement. Ali can't believe she's IN her favorite horror movie of the last 5 years. Zach Cregger's Weapons is out and Ali gasped out loud multiple times reading the script loved yelling at Julia Garner for two whole scenes! See Ali, Benedict Wong, Julia Garner, and Josh Brolin in the trailer!
Ali is thrilled to be in Tyler Perry's latest film Straw starring Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, and Teyana Taylor. Now streaming on Netflix!

Very happy to say I have relocated to Atlanta, GA. Very excited to join this new market with Stewart Talent Atlanta. Apparently, I really am a Georgia Peach because I bruise easily and bugs love to bite me.

I was a virtual host for the international IDEXX 2021 tradeshow. Getting my green screen on and I performed the script in 4 different accents.
Quarantine Life. I wrote, directed, and shot this with my wonderful non-actor husband on a whim in about 45 minutes. We had fun.

Luckily there is one aspect of acting that is not so tactile during this pandemic. Very happy to safely get out of the house and do some voiceover work for the National Restaurant Association. I work with them frequently and they are simply wonderful.
Filmed a McDonalds industrial in March
Check out Aurora Storage's story about upgrading the St. Benedictine University's Library. I shot this is February and it truly is impressive what they have done with the rare books collection.

Took part in a Q&A Jan 30th (in a polar vortex!) with producer extrodinaire Colleen Griffen, filmmaker Claire Cooney, and moderated by Christine Wolf discussing the changing roles for women behind and in front of the camera.
I was interviewed for an article about women in film. You can read it here.
Excerpt: "The best part was working with the amazing leaders we had in Joe [Chappelle] and Colleen [Griffen], and the fact that my role was not as a wife or girlfriend or any kind of catalyst for a male story."

My feature film debut is now in theatres and I could not be more proud to be a part of it.

Check out Heidi Stevens' column in the Chicago Tribune about the character of Frida and Goodman's decision to make Scrooge's nephew Fred into a niece. I love playing this part and am so happy to see that it is resonating with others too. Click here to read the article.
Still reading? Well done you. Lots of other things happened in 2018, 2017, etc but I think we will stop here for now.
